I am glad I found this article because being in the 9th grade at the time and this being so many years ago, I had forgotten some of the details over the years. Although many fans left early when the Sox were down, I am happy to say we stayed until the end. Thank you for helping me re-live such a great childhood memory.

Sorry that I didnt see this earlier but based on the fact spring training is just starting I feel that it is still appropriate, Life without baseball would be a major loss for all people, parents, kids, grandparents, family ,friends and fans . How many of us rememeber one of the 1st things we played with was a baseball, sharing our dreams as future players or our favorite team and bringing us all together over what the outcomes would be or who's favorite player or team was best . I think if we put all those interactions together it would have encompassed a lot more of our time than we thought. Hopefully none of those in the future will be deprived of that great opportunity that stays with you your whole life ! great article and topic !! If you get a chance check www.atomictickets.com

My name is Jordanna Preer-Gudermuth and I was a dear friend and classmate of Justin Walker. I knew his mom, Leslie, and Justin and I were very close during our high school years. I went by the nickname 'Jordi'.

I have been searching for him since before his role in Clueless to no avail. Should you have contact with him would you kindly pass along this message. I now have Multiple Sclerosis and I am just searching for friends and family that I have not had the opportunity to reach out to.

Thank you, in advance, for your efforts.

This was a wonderful article, and couldn't be more on point as far as the true graze of Josh Hamilton. I'm 29 years old and found myself waiting in line for his autograph today at the O's vs Rangers game. I wanted his autograph not only because he is a great player, but also due to my great admiration I have for what he went through and how he has overcome it all. Not only was he nice to everyone he stayed and signed for at least 30 min prior to the game. He is a true example of what a athlete should be like!

Hey Rob! We have something in common: An Opening Day song! Just Googled :Opening Day Song" to see how ours might have increased in posts, as as it did of course. But I saw your site too! Cool song and idea! Very good production and performance. Good write too, with clever lyrics!

Scott Campbell wrote ours that I just sing on, and play live with my "Too Little Time" band. Maybe you can do what I did to get it played at the Phillies ballpark for every Opening Day since 2008,,,,,and that is, I asked! Just ask someone in the office during early winter to listen to yours for possible playing over the loudspeakers at your Fenway Park. Just ask them! I happened to ask Greg Luzinski, who listened to it on his way home during the last preseason game in 2008. he gave it to the Phils office the next day, and to our surprise, I got a call from the ballpark on Opening Day form my granddaughter, who asked: "Did you sing a baseball song about Opening Day?! A huge thrill for us all. I heard it play for the 2009 opener. This year, I heard it in the background of the TV pregame.

Wish you luck with your good Opening Day song!

Another B'day party where this song will be sung (08/28/09). This time in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, 70th b'days for dear friends, former Newton residents and life long members of RSN. By the way, we need to get the powers to be in the front office of 4 Yawkey Way to start playing this in the fifth inning and eventually it will replace Sweet Caroline which is beginning to run its course.

Can't wait for your next song...or blog addition. "Your winning is the goal but is not the point" needs to be shared with every little league coach in the world!

Good Rob. That last paragraph is absolutely crucial. That's the point of Little League also when you're 2-20-1. That's the way you coach, however, and the kids and paretns know it. Congrats on a great season. See ya.

Mr. VP:

I am PISSED off at the Sox! You are our man on the inside and I hope you can make these facts clear.

The fweather in Boston was awful today. The Twins game that was delayed and not called off until 8:15PM should have been PPD at noon.

This is school vacations week. Families are being blocked out of Fenway by HUGE ticket prices and HUGE scalping on the streets and internet. I spoke to many fathers who were irate that they were forced to go to Fenway and wait for a game that was never going to be played. they paid for parking - food and memorabilia.

Many have to work at NOON today. Thus, they and their kids lose the opportunity to be a part of the Fenway Experience. FOR THEIR ONLY TIME in 2009.

Shame on The Red Sox. Money is the root of all evil and the Sox have been forced to forget their fans and care more about the almighty buck.

I attended 10 Spring Training games at City of Palms Park in March. I hold tickets for 21 Sox games in top priced seats for this season.

I defend the Sox and promote them every day on my Blog in my person and on TV. BUT - not tonight! Shame on the TRIO. They need to be more sensative to FANS not MONEY!
